Egr removal

#1 by Hornstar , Fri Jan 23, 2015 6:23 pm

Can I put my neck on the block and ask what & why people blank off the EGR? I did try & find the answer on here, from what I can gather it puts un burnt gases back into the engine for the emissions. What are the pros & cons? Sorry if this has been asked before.

I believe is was a swivel chair employee of Mitsubishi trying to justify his/her job and came up with this nut of an idea that would keep the company quids in via engines/blocks and or replacement parts .
He/she kept their job and made the company extra dosh via their suicide design for the engines.

True story!
Honest

Hi all,im want to do mine too, piece of mind,so No cons to mention then? Taking the heads of the existing bolts is a risk but is that all?

As far as I know there are no cons, mines been done for 1000 miles now and alls well, my bolts all came out easily as well, just make sure you top your coolant back up and check for leaks.

the bolts are easy enough mate just spray the ones near exhaust and manifold they can be a bit corroded

you souldnt have to top coolant up
