Can anyone recommend a free antivirus software thingy please ?
I used to have norton antivirus360 for my PC and thus could install it on mrs krutly's laptop without any extra cost. Since then I have switched from windows to linux on my pc so dont run a dedicated antivirus thingy anymore. I'm loathed to pay good money for software just to run on the laptop. Can anyone recommend a program to download that'll help cut down on the pop ups that appear on the laptop without me handing over hard earned money to Norton ?

try AVG, great little prog, used it for a few years now
did have warrior, but crossed over to disco 2.
Thought I could see light at the end of the tunnel, but it was somebody with a torch bringing more work!

Same as Shogun ..... use Avast on home pc's and work

Not free but cheap as antivirus goes.. Panda... I've been using it for around 5 years now, and they do multiple computor versions for very little more..

Avast - recommended to me many years ago by an IT bloke... he reckons the mainline ones like Norton etc really slow down your computer.

Had Avast for years.. Works great. But ya can try out Bitdefender(2014) or Panda(2015), both good free programs as well, in some details even better than good ol' Avast.

I've been using Avast for years. Before that I used AVG, but found that after a while it caused system slowdown

Yea Id say avast as well. Loads of gamers use it as it doesnt slow them down
