Just a quick question that hopefully someone will know the answer to

when fitting new brake pads , should there be a thin metal shim on both pads or should only one pad have a shim ? any ideas anyone ?

dose it go piston side?, id have thought there would be a plate on all pads or none depending on what pads you buy as there the anti rattle plates aint they?

Is it the squeal shim that you are talking about

I fitted new pad's a few month's back & none were on
not had any probs without them

Don't remember seeing on mine at Xmas either........

so one each side , fitted on the outer pad is that right ?

mine squeeeeel like a little tiny piglet

are the pads worn to the squeal shims

no only just had it serviced they heard the squeal when I pulled up , they said there was plenty left on the pads
