L200 V8 Project

#1 by MrPAH , Thu Mar 12, 2015 10:42 am

Well, after alot of heart ache I've decided that I've had enough of my Mitsubishi L200 3.0Ltr V6 please see other discussion on the reason why

So, I've decided I'm going to change the 6G72 Engine for something a bit more interesting

A 4.0 ltr 32-valve quad-camshaft V8 LEXUS Unit

Power is around 256 to 265 bhp and easily tuneable for alot more BHP

I'm going to keep the 4wd as well

So, I've bought a Lexus 1UZ-FE Engine + Everything to get it up and running from ebay for a pricely sum of £200 + Postage at £150 So a grand total of £350

Will do a build manual if anyone is interested and will keep everyone upto date with photos.

The project starts Mid April.

I will also have the following parts for sale:

Alternator
Starter Motor
Power Steering Pump
Exhaust Manifolds - Exhaust is a Custom One
Inlet Manifold
Injectors in the Fuel Rail
Engine Wiring Loom
Reconditioned ECU Which cost £250 on its own with Guaranted till December 2015

Also have a Single Point LPG System that will also be up for sale, with everything including Tank, Swithes, ECU - Plug and Play, Wiring Loom, Pipes everything the system is a Australian Unit which is designed to work on the L200 3.0Ltr V6 or probably the Pajeros and Shoguns as well.

This is the website for the LPG System http://www.elko.com.au/autogas/elkoautogas.html

Please Email me with offers on the above items to: hortonpaul1975@gmail.com

Thanks

Wish me Luck With this Project

This is a moderately common conversion with LR Discos, where it adds decent, tractable power and - if installed well - decent reliability. Looking forward to this very much my.

Sounds a good project. Somewhere on the pajero forum there is s chap that has stuck the lexus v8 in his paj. Apparently it's the same stud pattern for the housing. Might be worth an idea using a shoggy 4wd drive box instead of the l200 one if it makes it easier. It's the shogun gearbox that's in the 2.8 l200 so the gearbox definitely fits and you can get crossembers straight off the shelf to fit yours. Saves messing around altering chassis mounts. Hope it fits together well bud. I do love the sound of a v8.

Or just buy a Land Bruiser V8 with much the same motor and save a lot of knuckle blood.

Pajero with a lexus v8. Apparently the auto transmission is a simple swap.

click on post reply not quick reply
then "attach file"
then "browse" find the pic you want to upload on your device
then click "upload"
when it's done that click "insert" (usually I choose "auto") and you'll get a pic like this at the bottom of your post (think it's a maximum of 5 per post) that if you click on will show full screen
