#1 by reveloution ( Guest ) , Sat Jun 27, 2015 4:31 pm

hi guys. my 07 l200 has had 2 hg repairs in the last 6 months now I have the dreaded bubbles in header tank again. head was pressure tested both times water pump and stat replaced also. funny thing is both times temp hand raised when I drove a bit this time temp stays at normal and water blows from the header tank? any help greatly appreciated.

When the HG failed the previous 2 times did the repaired make any attempt to establish the cause, or did they just slap on new gaskets?

Radiator cap faulty would give bubbling in the header tank and overheating... it would overheat and then cool, then overheat again and then cool..
Could be worth the £10 to try that first..

not really any pressure loss from cap results in a lower boiling temp of the coolant

I done the rad cap test with the pressure test but for the sake of a tenna or less buy a new one piece of mind that it's narrowed it down mate

would it not have some form of warranty on it? Poor show if a garage has got it wrong ...twice!
