New rear shackles with poly bushes look squashed

#1 by Mikey360 , Sat Oct 03, 2015 1:25 pm

Just had the pleasure of replacing both my 15 year old, 170,000 miles shackles with some lovely new ones with poly bushes,
I've torqued them up to 52nm, but have noticed both the top ones seem to be bulging alot? I've loosened off the top nut to the edge of the thread, but they sill seem to be "squashed"

Any ideas?
Thanks

Mine looked a bit squashed wen I did em so I took em back out and took a wee bit off with the belt sander. Looked a lot better afterwards.

Dumb question, but I take it you trim down the outer part of the bush?
