rev limit in 1st gear

#1 by jetskijersey ( Guest ) , Sun Nov 22, 2015 12:57 pm

Hi, i have a 2008 l200 DI-D 4life which has just developed an intriguing fault- in first gear the engine revs to 3000 revs and gets up to about 12 mph and then will not go further,if I change into second gear everything appears to be as it should. Any ideas please?

last winter, but the vehicle is only used in the summer, and has had about only 6 fill-ups in that time.

There will be a switch on the clutch, check to see it is attached, adjusted correctly or electronically sound.
It sounds to me like its rev limiting because the ECU is seeing a depressed clutch when it isn't.

Did you ever find the problem, as I've got the exact same in my 09 l200 , won't rev past 3000 in first gear but when out of gear etc it revs fine, no warning lights etc?? Thanks
