I'm intrigued - what're you looking to hitch up?

It makes it easier for positioning large trailers and caravans by having a hitch at the front

Hi Stick,
Yes I am fitting it myself but I'm going to need at least three hands so a friend is also helping.
I'll post some pics later when it's done.

Cheers

they are also good for close parking, if you tap the vehicle in front you dont scratch your bumper

Hi Everyone,

Front Tow Bar now fitted.

Had to cut a couple of notches in the plastic bumper as in the photo.
One tie bar had to have a hole elongated, apart from that all's good and very pleased.

See the attached pics.

Cheers

looks the part mate, see yours is detachable, my old lr it was bolted directly to the front bumper and stayed there, funny enough i came back to it a couple of times in car parks and found the odd bit of paint on it

is the bar strong enough to mount a detachable winch as well ??

Hi Treeboa,
Yes it will take a winch, have a look at the web site here - http://www.watling-towbars.co.uk/front_towbars.html
I had front hooks on all my landrovers -as you say just bolted on to the bumper with a back plate.

Cheers

now thats a handy bit of kit, not everyone wants a winch on the vehicle full time, plus if you have thier towbar front and back you dont need two winches

Never tried manouvering a trailer/caravan with a front mounted towball, but it's got to be easier than having it at the back....

Interesting idea, i have no problem reversing a trailer (i work for a agricultural contractor) But can see the appeal for some

when launching a boat it is a boon, your not dipping the exhaust for starters, you have a greater wieght over the axle and you also have a choice of more gears

I guess it's because I've never been shown how to do it properly. I just can't do it.... I owner a caravan for a while and it was a nightmare.

I can parallel park like a demon, but there is a method in that. Once you know it's easy. Infact I can parallel park my truck into a parking space smaller then my truck.
