ABS, fault codes, cheap obd plugs

#1 by mikeb1986 , Mon Sep 05, 2016 7:44 pm

ABS has come on this weekend, obviously the week my mot is due. I have Torque Pro and cheap chinese bluetooth OBD adapter. I don't know if my adapter us crap or something but I barely get any live data though.
But more.importantly my only faults are 1101 and 1102 both communication errors by the look of it. 1102 is evidently connection with abs computer fault according to a quick Google. Has anyone else had this and can confirm its right or is it my cheap adapter not being very clever?

Thanks

What year is it if 06+ check fsm for the codes as goolge/torque lists some l200 faults wrong
If unplugging doesn't solve it you could
Wipe the codes see how long it takes to come back if it lasts a while wipe just before mot

I will try a re-plug in. When I cleared the faults it gave me a warning about 'grey faults' that will only clear when ecu has detected n clean cycles. Something like that, and they are still there when I scan again

And maybe I'm being daft but what is fsm

Checking both those codes relates to traction control problems. However, I had a cheap Chinese reader and I found if I left it plugged in it would randomly show transmission errors and throw warnin lights.

Transmission errors always pop up even on Delphi for some reason it always brings up an auto trans fault on manuals

It's because the stupid cheap readers try and get auto data from manuals and throw errors when it times out because obviously there is no auto box to get data from!

Good to know, thanks.
A lad at work had a go with his Snap-On plug in and its showing a fault on NSF so obviously my cheapo one isn't picking up the ABS system.
