Prep for inverness

#1 by Alan G , Wed May 02, 2012 9:04 pm

Got the truck into the work tonight, spare tyre was flat so repaired that & put in the tub, adjusted the rear brakes, checked the front bearings, they have slight play but it will do, found that both inner cv boots are split, pumped them with grease & will sort later. All levels done. Tow straps cleaned & ready to fit. Just need to get my veg oil.

Now.......

My split inner CV is getting done tomorrow and both front bearings getting nipped up, must remember to check the spare.
I dug out all the camping gear tonight, will air it and check it tomorrow, need to go to Makro after work to get veg and fill the jerry cans for the return journey.

I must admit ive been totally uninterested at work this week, Friday lunchtime can't come quick enough

Been dicking around the last few nights with the truck... Lifted the front a bit more, fitted wheel spacers and found that the wheels rub like funk! so been busy cutting bits of bumper and the bits behind it with the grounder and sonicrafter and it's still gonna rub wher turning left

Border Control
2005 4life - Beast. 87,000 miles and still going...
Mods: Snorkel, roll bar and A bar with 6 spotlights, 3" lift, AT tyres
To do: replace sump, extended brake hoses, BJ spacers, decat, de-EGR
More planned but skint!
