fuel pump sprocket

Hi. ive started removing all the bits and pieces so i can remove the fuel pump on my 98 l200 and id like some advice regarding the fuel pump sprocket before i go ahead. I was going to remove the belt first before undoing the nut as i didnt want to damage my new belt and im guessing this is the way to go but is there some special tool to hold the sprocket with? it looks like i could remove 2 outer bolts and make something up or adapt something but it looks kinda fragile to me and dont want to break it. Also till nus undone i cant see if its keyed at all , im hoping so its easy to put back on. Im sure i can get hold of a suitable puller but again would it be the cast inner or steel outer i should bear on to remove.
Im sending the unit for testing and repair or refurbishment if neccessry . this way after all the work involved at least ill know the pump is good and to look elsewhere. Many thanks in advance

im not sure. i assume it fits the other side of the backing plate and ive not yet located the mounting nuts\bolts. Ive seen secondhand units with them on but i reckon theyve put em back on after. Be a bit cheeky sending the whole lot by carrier!

well ive discovered from milners that they do the sprocket just in case something breaks and it is keyed on the shaft so should be easy to go back together.
