Update

#1 by AD , Sat Sep 09, 2017 6:07 pm

As some of you know turbo seal went on way back from Kirton.
Got new turbo, got it all fitted today and it started fine then PROBLEM
Loads of smoke out exhaust then I noticed I had a leak on exhaust where it meets turbo down pipe but then noticed it started to blow oil out the leak in exhaust. Now I'm puzzled ,could you give me some ideas as to what's causing this.
Cheers AD

logically you've got oil getting to the turbo where there should be just air, so the question is where is the oil coming from ?

Flush the intercooler. There will be oil in the exhaust so will burn off. Also if its a cheap e bay turbo they are shite.

Think it's blown piston ring or rings

Can the rings be done without taking whole engine out??

so are we to assume the engine oil is getting through/past the pistons and being thrown out through the turbo ?
would that not give you terminal diesel runaway as it self fuels itself ?

you would also be seriously down on power ... the oil is certainly being thrown around the head , as when you took the cap off it was spitting and you could hear the extra roaring. If its being thrown out the exhaust I'd be tempted to check the exhaust manifold for oil fouling before condemining the rings maybe ?
