had a pre MOT today and the new track rod ends I put on less than 6 months ago have failed ( well one of them has ) brake pipes at the back high up. not good - fragile is what it is - bushes are gone on the leaf spring hangers........again! If the new shapes are as bad as this (and of course I`m the only one who works trucks like me ) then its going to be an expensive change , when it happens

Buy a hilux then....

(although I don't know if the new ones are as good as my 1984 one was, but that was a great truck, even Top Gear couldn't destory them)

My rock slider were from a Toyota Landcruiser and adpated to suit my need. Welded to the chassis, this is/was pics up on here somewhere of them,

generally from dingbro - inverness based crowd, most highland garages use. they weren`t expensive bits and I beg to differ Danne - its off tarmac that kills trucks - forest tracks are bumpy with rocks that act like hammers, even offroad pay and plays are smooth mud - otherwise folk wouldn`t go

I know of two new ones that have caused probs for their owners - one (59) has had 000`s spent in electrical damage that was caused when the windscreen leaked into the passenger side ....straight into the main ecu - zzzt!zzzt! boom! the other (09) the guys wife reversed her new mini into the tub and cost him £2.5k paint is also as suspect as l200`s
so no the old ones are better - just not so techy
