Lift kit ordered :D

#1 by robl200 , Sat Sep 15, 2012 12:13 pm

Well, ordered the xpajun 2 inch lift with nice yellow brake hoses. Whole kit was £130 delivered and it was no extra charge to get the rear hose extended to accommodate future extended shackles.

Look forward to it arriving, will need to make a tweak to my rad x member repair before fitting and want to get hold of spare gear levers for notching and bending

Cool will give you a shout. I don't have a compressor but have a not bad drill at the garage.
Just need to extend the bracket on my rad repair and figure out gear levers

I always said I wasn't going down the body lift route, but im starting to swither on a 1.5 inch lift which I think would still allow the truck into multi storeys and would give the tyres a little more clearance........mmmmmmm, so much to do, so little money

had a shufty at mine the other day, how much would have to be cut out of the console for the boots to stay on? and pics would be ideal, my Xpajun ones are the 2 long fronts and one back if that makes sense? so reeming of the bracket that the 2 standard pipes go into and join together would be required yes?

Because my x member is shot I had a bracket welded on to the chassis between it and the xmember. Would need to get it cut and extended to lift the body

Rob/Greigy , one thing I do want to know when you get the lift done is what nuts/bolts come with it as, being a tight arse, I got my lift blocks off the bay of E for much cheapness cause they had no bolts. Knowing what bolts I would need would increase the chance of me getting round to doing mine by a factor of about a thousand

Dingle, so when do you decide to get rid of the RR and use the L200 for off roading? Seems like you are doing a tad more to it than you intended too!

Nice one rob, glad you took the plunge it will be worth it in the end. With regards to your x member. There's a company called direct autoparts I think it is that do a whole front panel the, crossmember slam panel etc is all one piece, they make crash repair panels but you can't buy direct. I got one from a guy on eBay for £85, you will need the front off anyway to do the lift so if you need his details give me a shout I'll pm them. Get a spotweld cutter for your drill and a grinder will get the old one off, then simply drill the new panel and plug/spot weld it on.
Word of advice you will find bits of rust, be it chassis/body/oil cooler pipes/pas pipes etc, be ready with something to clean them up and treat them while it's apart as it's much easier with access, if the front is rotten then it could be hiding little treats for you when you get it in bits.

Are you guys talking about rad cross member or front chassis cross member?
