Broke the fooooookin truck

Drove up from West Midlands Thursday night, 3 miles from the mother in laws realised I had forgotten the lift blocks for the job on Sunday, no problem, at 0500 I drove from Liverpool back to Walsall picked up the blocks and returned back to merseyside.
About a mile or so from the in law a grinding noise and without warning the front o/s dropped slightly with a nasty wheel wobble and within about 100yds little or no brakes and a bit of smoke. After a quick look I limped it back at walking speed.
I jacked it up and didn't even need to wobble the wheel, bollocks, the front wheel bearing had collapsed taking the inner bearing out aswell, the result of both bearings collapsing broke the splined bit of the drive shaft off and the whole mess has welded itself into a molten mess, the manual hubs are plastic have also melted from the heat.
I am now trying to source parts and am stranded till about Wednesday next.
I am seriously getting knobed off with L200s, after the green lane trip a month ago the brakes and hubs where serviced, this destroyed its self with no warning. Prior to this I had been traveling down the motorway and no indication, then along 30 mph roads nothing, and on a housing estate with three close junctions nothing, no squeal rumble or wobble.
Apologies to @alex200 sent you a text letting you know I can't get to you for the rock sliders.
I am sooooo glad I took my tool chest with me it's only waiting on me getting a grinder to get the hub off and await parts arriving Monday onwards.
Fookin shit trucks, if it ran on petrol it would be charcoal now

Gutted mate, it going to be fixed by next weekend?

After woody13 adventure I wouldn't touch a disco, still not designed for serious off road, a crossover it is.

More work then
To be fair Nicky wants a 90 but my back could not take the hammering from the ride
So I've put my foot in it and said look for one and we will strip and rebuild it,it will only be on the road doing 10 mile a day for her work, guaranteed it won't see off road lol

Don't want to knock the 200 I sort of love it, it's just the massive amount of work they require,it's like having a high maintenance woman, eventually is she worth the end product.

You will love her again once she's sort it
It's got to be all the shit we do to them there made in the factory with tolaracnces and we change them there for stressing other parts
I bet the people on here with standard trucks apart from the shit engine don't get half the troubles

No worries paul but I did say apart from the shit engine
It was more of the more you change from standard the you change the tolaracnces ie lift it change camber make it wider with spacers stress on joints that sort of thing mate

At the end of the day it don't matter what make of truck you have if you mod it and play hard it's gonna break at some point,Ive seen quite a few landrovers fecked on play sites so if you have a l200 or a landrover eventually you will need to repair the fecker. My mate has a 6" lift on his disco and it's never out the garage getting drive shafts and uj's replaced as they only last months with the stress of the severe angles with the lift, and that's driving on tarmac. So now it's going in to get lowered after a lot of money thrown at it .
Ya picks ya marque ya takes ya chance.
