Changing scv

#1 by pcat , Tue May 29, 2018 3:39 pm

Looks like an easy job, think mine is on the way out

Is it just battery out, battery box off for access, old scv off, new one on?

Think this might be why my truck doesn't like the agritune

Looking at the manual, you have to do "supply pump correction learning" which requires a MUTIII @deg
Is there another way to do this?

Was hoping to change it tomorrow, so heeeelp!!!

Got mine from Milners, Genuine Denso no issues.
I have a spare second hand one here in Stoke On Trent, as it was my EGR Valve that was faulty not the SCV
if you are local come and get it, as i don't own an L200 anymore.

Spoke to them just now, its the correct part for my VIN apparently, but it physically wont fit into the pump, the one on the right is the original and its clearly narrower and different

@Nick does yours look like the one on the left or right in my pic?

Im also not really sure if its the scv or egr, so i figured i would fit a new scv and one of chris's egr modules, then try my agritune again, maybe worth trying it with just the egr mod plus agritune?

Have you looked to see what part number is on your SCV?
Can milners match it up?

Ah, the scv code is actually printed on the pump itself, next to the pump part number

Mine is 1460a053, milners is 1460a056 so hopefully they can get one, if not ive seen a denso branded one on fleabay

I think i'm cursed, easy jobs never turn out to be easy for me!
Thx

It looks like the original pump, i've had cars in the past where the same model/year/etc has had two interchangeable parts (had a citroen once which had either a Bosch or a Lucas pump seemingly at random from the factory)
On the plus side i've had a practise run - having removed and refitted the existing bit
