A very warm welcome to the forum to the following new members

@Auto_Junky
@adamhale84
@Herbman
@Imogensdad
@Tashlah
@Dee-tee
@GIB123
@Skelts
@Tek76

Please tell us a little about yourself and where abouts your are from.

If you wish to see more of the site , maybe The How to section of jobs members have carried out or maybe the online manuals then please upgrade your membership. It is completely free and all we ask is that you Private Message Admin your name, address and postcode ( look for the box marked ' Private Messages ' in the top light blue banner, about a third of the way across). we only ask you to do this as it discourages ' spammers ' and ensures only genuine members are upgraded. Your details will never be used for anything else and never passed to anyone else.

Please Note : On average your upgrade should take up to 48 hrs but there are times when it may take longer, please be patient but Admin does it in their spare time

If you have any pressing questions then please ask in the ' Ask Admin /Moderators ' section. Most of the upgraded members have access to this section. We do ask , when posting , that you can supply some basic information about your truck to enable a more focused answer. If you are unsure of which series/mark of L200 you have please follow this link Identifying your ' Series ' of L200
If we could also just ask you to stick a pin in our map for an approx location then our regional reps, when organising events , will be able to contact people within their areas
Adding yourself to the forum Map

Could just let us know where you heard about the L200Forum from please that would be great.
How did you find the L200Forum?
Many Thanks

YOU'RE NOT THE FIRST AND CERTAINLY WONT BE THE LAST TO EXPERIENCE THIS

WHY IS MY CAPS LOCK STUCK ON ?

CAN ANYONE HELP ME WITH THIS ?

..........

Panic over, I think I've fixed it now
many of the screw heads on a classic seem to be made of either cheese or chocolate masquerading as metal
the ones on the sump guard snap for a pastime and anything to do with the bumper are also bound to shear off

Hello and a big thank you for the warm welcome from North Wales.

My wife and I bought a Diesel 2014 Barbarian because we got fed up with all the furniture and DIY equipment we kept filling the car up with overtime we visited the children, at least now when we are invited down for a visit we can sit in comfort and know nothing is likely to spill over the seats into our laps.

I love the L200 but I hope it is going to be a little more rugged as I have been led to believe they are, in the 14 months we have owned our Barbie I have had to change the transfer box oil seal (Under warranty) and gearbox mounting bush. Sorted that out but now there is a shrieking noise (metal gasket?) and soot from the EGR area of the engine bay, also unrelated (I think) a horrible smell of what I can only describe as gas (Not petrol), I mean house hold gas :-/ , I think this started after I had engaged the 4x4 and the dashboard light keep flashing but that may be a coincidence!

Please tell me these trucks are tougher than this, this little beauty has only done 60K easy miles :-)

they are fairly rugged beasts. Get an egr delete from chris valentine ( @FoxyChris ) , then clean up the egr and put the delete on , no more problems from that end then. shrieking sound could be a boost pipe leaking ?

Transfer box seal and mounting bush are just more a nuisance than anything, not overly common

Thank you for the advice, EGR delete will be an option. The shrieking sound is also coming from the EGR area so pretty sure it is not a boost pipe leaking but I will investigate.

Cheers

My local garage found the source of the horrible smell, it was the front diff oil. Opening the filler cap it looked ok, so they decided to drain it just in case, the smell was bad enough to clear the garage. We can only assume the oil got overheated when I engaged 4x4, not sure how though.

Fresh oil in and time should clear what smell remains.
