Winch options

Ive been looking to install a winch on my 2007 L200 Animal.

To keep it short, The law states that, in cases of such installations, an engineer has to oversee and sign off the winch, which has to oblige laws and regulations.

One shop suggested something different that makes it easier cheaper and more 'mobile'.

A female bracket is installed on the chassis at the front, behind the bumper, and at the back on the tow bar.
A winch with a male bracket can be attached at the front or back, when needed, and the power lines are pre installed with a cable adapter.
The brackets are held with a bolt that withstands 8 ton of force, intended that the winch is for 4.5 tons.

Is this installation, logical, safe or practiced?

Ive attached photos but you can also find his gallery here.

Yes it’s very logical. U’ve got a front or rear mounted winch without insurance or law issues. U just put it on when needed. Which will probably be off the highway anyway.

2" receiver hitch from Watling towbars and a winch tray that will fit it. one of the other 4x4 responder lads in our group uses one on his D-max and its a useful and impressive bit of kit.

Winch on the receiver hitch works fine, but only when winching in a straight line forward. When winching to the side, receiver hitch will be bend.... Something to consider...

Every great journey starts in first gear and by releasing the clutch....
