2006 L200 Warrior - horn & airbag light

#1 by Draygor ( Guest ) , Sat Aug 18, 2018 3:35 pm

Hi all, I've just acquired a 2006 L200 Warrior off my brother for nothing, so I can't complain at the price.
The horn doesn't work at all, and the airbag light is on. Are these issues related do you think?
Also, I noticed it is very bouncy when driving, so checked the rear shocks and in all honesty they look shot.
Could someone like myself with basic mechanic knowledge change out the shocks do you think?

Many thanks for any advice in advance.

They could be related have u checked the fuse for horn and to see if power is getting to the horn. Squib ring could be at fault if the above is ok.

Cheers mate.
Yes the fuse is ok.
I've taken power directly to the horn and it works fine.
Squib Ring??
This is my first mitsubishi, so I'll probably need the idiots guide - sorry!!

I'd agree with the possibility of the squib ring being at fault here
clock spring / airbag squib / slip ring / steering angle sensor (it's called many things) is located behind the steering wheel and has the wiper/indicator stalks attached to it
I'd assume the horn will get it's power though this somewhere too
there is a 'how to' on here of how to change this and how it aligns up but you'll need to be a registered upgraded member to view this (it's free to register and upgrade)

I would be taking mine to the garage to get it done if it was on my truck as the thought of unplugging an airbag has 'what could go wrong' written all over it
but hey, that's just me as I'm really not comfortable with electrics and stuff
