Oil leak

#1 by WarriorSam , Mon Nov 19, 2018 8:30 pm

Hi all, hopefully someone could give me the heads up! Developed a pretty serious oil leak on my classic! I seems to be coming from the front behind the cam belt lower cover!? I took the top cam belt cover off to see if I could spot it but no real joy apart from the belts picking up some oil nothing major! I’m thinking crank or balance shaft seal?????? If so is it a pain????
Any help would be great!
Kind regards Sam

Cheers 123 I thought as much is it a common thing? Trucks done 160000 and running well (ish) belts were done 5000 ago! Is it basically pully wheel off and new seal pressed over the nose? To be honest but much for me but got an honest (ish) local garage what would you say is going to be the damage?£

You could put a new pump on and have the bad luck for it to leak after 500 miles.

Check all the push pipe connections that go to the thermostat housing For leaks. They can be a bugger sometimes and dribble down the front.
