Wheel arch trim, rattle can colour?

#1 by Mark333032 , Wed Aug 28, 2019 6:05 am

First post on here for me....I just bought a 2007 L200. One of the silver grey wheel arch flares has some unsightly scrapes on it which I'd like to blow over with some rattle can paint. Does anyone know what is a close enough match? Thanks all

look on the plate under bonnet then take code to auto paint supplier and they'll make you a can up.

Thanks, but I don't need the paint code of the car. It's a close match to the silver grey wheel trim flares I need please

On the older models there were two paint codes on the plate AD is talking about - one for the main colour and one for the trim/two tone colour. Not sure if newer models are the same or not.

Still is. I have a white with black trim - W32 99 is on my plate. It can also be found on some of the paperwork in the vehicle bible. I know there's a silver/grey and a titanium, both metallic. Like AD said, local paint suppliers are usually able to mix up an original colour rattle tin (12 years of fading will mean a slight offcoloring) for a reasonable price.

Looking at the plate, against COLOR TRIM OPT mine states A67 (which I know to be the body colour Titanium Dark Grey Metallic) and then further along that line 13H T81. I cannot find any references to 13H anywhere and T81 is midnight blue from the early nineties so that can't be correct. So does anyone have any ideas?

is your truck a newshape (curved rear doors) or a classic (squared rear doors) ?
if it's a classic then the paint code on mine was
R59A38 which I think is palma red and hamilton silver

if it's a new shape then I can't help but @animal may be able to advise

2007 means it's the 4th generation with the curved rear doors. I've now taken the trim off and will take it to a local paint shop to get a match. I'll post the colour code when I have it

I managed to find out the paint code from the Mitsubishi dealership in Crewe. It just so happened the parts guy had to look it up some years ago and remembered making a note of it. It's A80 Grey
