L200 55 plate limp mode fault

#1 by Phantomz4 , Tue Nov 26, 2019 11:52 pm

My L200 2.5D has started playing up. Started having a bit of an issue when engine management light came on out the blue. Then when drive it sometimes the power drops and it gets slower and slower. If you turn it off for 5-10 mins and restart then seems to cure it.

So I removed the EGR valve and added the blanking plates plus unplugged the 3 pin connector and taped it up.

EM light still comes on intermittently and it does the Rev limiting thing.

Last weekend working fine and then started it and now revs won’t go over 1200 rpm and it’s stuck in some sort of misfire limp mode? If you turn it off and start with foot in throttle it revs normally but as soon as revs drop it so t go back over 1200.

What’s the issue anyone?

Plugged the EGR valve back in and all works fine. Light went out.

Now have cable tied the sensor to one of the pipes as removed the housing and did a bypass.

Hope that’s the end of it
