as some will know i have got into caravaning NO DONT PANIC PLEASE READ ON its not about camping as sutch

would like to take my laptop with me so i can up load pictures visit the forum. emails. and ebay

what is the best dongle type networky plug in thingy and best net work coverage to have

really need a simple answer or a collective one as i am thick as f@@k when it comes to tecky wirey stuff just ask lez and alan g

No idea mate as the places i go tend to have wifi..sometimes at a small cost sometimes free...sorry im no help mate

i used to have a 3G dongle for a while a few years back.......it worked shit until i bought a 5m lead for it and i used to have to hang my Dongle out the window as it was an old thick walled cottage and the signal inside was pants...

After i put my Dongle out the window it worked well.......BUT please wait for more knowlegable people to answer as this was a few years ago

I used to have a 02 dongle changed to 3 network as signal is better where I now live. I use it all the time cos im to tight to have a landline installed when I have a mobile phone

Why not get a smartphone our lass has a galaxy mini thing and she can get tinternet nearly anywhere Personally i like to be oldschool when on holiday and relax without the tech malarky and work being able to get hold of me !!

am on a contract and carnt upgrade yet and need a big screen ie laptop and yeah like to be old school my self but only just been dragged out the80s been convinced brainwashed that i needit with me to look for bargains in the area we visit for the truck van house think u get my drift lol

What phone have you got as most new smart phones allow you to tether, i.e. you can use your phone as a wireless router

Not sure if they can be used to tether, but what you need to do next is go onto the different network sites and see who has 3g signal where you plan to go

Back on topic now . If youre on contract with internet usage your provider should be able to sort you one , at work we're on Vodaphone and they provided dongles to use on our laptops and as a rule if you've got a good phone signal the dongles work pretty well , not as quick as wifi though . Hope that helps you out surfer

Andy its a different contract for businesses, i really doubt they would give you a dongle for a personal phone... But there is no harm in asking
