Carpet cleaning advice needed please

#1 by krutly , Tue Apr 30, 2013 7:09 pm

OK , the missus is giving me grief about cleaning the carpets in our house, has anybody used the "rug doctor" and other types? are they worth hiring out or is it just as well to buy one? any particular brands to go for or stay away from? do you then need the specific cleaners that go with them or would any cleaning chemical do the same kind of job? There has to be some of you out there that have done this kind of thing before hasn't there ?

I bought a vax carpet cleaner from ebay and bought some rug doctor cleaner to go with it........worked really well and you will be shocked how black the water is! , I sold it back on ebay for what I paid for it and have since bought another vax one that has the upholstery attachments-this works well to, I now tend to mix my own cleaning chemicals now.....a bit of this and a bit of that from the cleaning cupboard...
