Brakes now sorted the problem was master cylinder seals passing brake fluid, but the cause of this failure was more worrying.

The brake fluid that my son-in-law had used was the incorrect type that affects the rubber seals and destroys them and only used in French cars and is a green/yellow colour, to me this was a easy mistake to make as he got it from Paxton a local farming supplier and just asked for a tin of brake fluid.....yes I know he should have checked what it said on the tin but also the person selling the stuff should also have asked what vehicle it was for.
costly mistake and has cost me..

Good result and escape from a possible serious accident if they had failed on a motorway..... just an obscure thought, if the 'abnormal' brake fluid has killed the seals in the master cylinder, will it do the same to the wheel cylinders too ??

That's the worry Lez can only hope its ok but I must say its in my mind as well the only saving grace is the truck was laid up a year with this fluid in the master cylinder and not bled thru to the brake pistons until just last week so .......hopefully
