Thanks mate, yes great to have it back on road😊 but we all know I've bodged it really and you know that taking short cuts doesn't pay off long term. I'm at work at moment and already thinking of parts I need to order in morning....sad o what lol

Just ordered some bits from @Milner Offroad (Harriet)
2 x front wheel bearing kits
3 x Prop UJ's
And centre prop bearing
Should be here in the morning.
Just to get started again😊

One of the first jobs I did ( before being a member here) was centre prop bearing 4 years ago, got it off bay of e and looking at MOT has only lasted about 8k. There's no rubber hardly left on it.

I had one that only lasted a couple of years. That was a poo ebay job. Had a milners one on for last 4 years. Don't forget milners ones don't have the spacers underneath so you gotta use some washers.

Just managed to catch a bit of dry weather this morning and changed front side of the wheel bearings
So took off the manual locking hubs, then the circlip.
Take off the lock washer, then lock nut, remove the brake caliper to one side.
Pull the hub/disk off.

Remove the rear oil seal (this is replaced with a new one) and the inner race's will come out

Once you clean out the grease you will see three groves in the hub that allow you to tap out the outer bearing races
Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)
The pic already shows new race's in but you can notice the groves that allow removal.
To tap the new ones into place I used the old ones placed on top and drove them in
Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)
Once in place...
Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)
Use appropriate grease and pack well.
REMEMBER to place the inner race (bearing itself) before placing the new oil seal on the back of the hub, then rebuild as taken off.

This pic just shows how the bearings should be placed in the hub

And here are the old ones that have been removed

It took me just over 2.5hrs but keep in mind that mine is full of rust and everything I do takes longer.

Did both inner and outer bearings, really easy Lee, the groves inside the hub make it really easy to remove the outer bearing race's. If it's easy on the "rust bucket" should be really easy on your trucks. Will put more picks in next week and do a proper "How To" from taking wheel off.

Ok so today I'm in the mood " life is short get on with it".
So I still have bearings, prop shaft and some welding to do but delayed it till tomorrow and Sunday and have decided to fit the compressor in the tub. Hacked the old liner, four holes and bolted down.
Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)

Just got lump hammer out flatened the bit were the brackets sit on the tub, bit of spay paint (yes red is all I had) and done just need to put air lines and electrics.
