Dave at DT seems busy hes not been answering my emails, the powder coating has started to chip off, seems like the company he used for powder coating didnt bother to degrease the metalwork before applying the powder and baking

Raj's Tinkering Corner

#43 by Deleted User , Mon May 28, 2012 10:23 pm

just thought id get an update on whats happening so far with the intercooler, and so far its an absolute B***C of a job, bought some silicon hoses and managed to get the right hand side fitted and plumbed in but i cant get the left hand!!!! This is due to the angle of the existing holes etc, so tomorrow im gonna try and see if i can get some differnt shaped pipes

Looking good fella, please say your going to clean up behind that bumper and give a it coat of paint/stone chip/underseal.

Yea once i have it properly fitted im going to disconnect everything and get it jet washed and clean all the dirt stuck under there, i have a tin of hammerite to put under there as well

RE: Raj's Tinkering Corner

I dont think the tin will fit Raj, might be worth using a paintbrush & smearing an even coat over bits, jou might just get it all in that way

Not much room under there Mr B, I wonder if theres any yardage in projecting the bumper further forwards even a coupla cm`s , on extender plates - that would give more air flow about the new IC, and if you get chequer plate on top of the top bar it would cover any gap?

Bas there is enough space, bumper wont even touch the intercooler, only problem is connecting new pipes to old ones

RE: Raj's Tinkering Corner

#50 by Basil , Mon May 28, 2012 10:49 pm

are you going to put a winch in the bumper raj? if not you could always put the IC in the space - outside the bodywork, hyper efficient?
