Everyone says, "Simply , take the radiator out"

But the Radiator does not simply come out?

Do I have to take the fan off before I can get the fan cowling out & then the radiator?

Will make it a lot easier if you do , not sure on these but a lot of cars you need a thin 32mm spanner, not as easy as dynamite but less damage

My fan couling just pulled off

the fan comes off easily enough if you revomve the nuts tight to get hands down there but can be done

The lower fan couling should have a trim that comes off, disconnect the lower pipe at the thermostat housing (engine end) lift the radiator & work the hose up between the fan blades as it will turn as you pull it up. Its easy, Ive done it loads of times

Ok so it's me again, back with my next challenge/problem!

The fan has been finally successfully removed along with the radiator & cowling, next I took off the fan pulley wheels & also a tensioner & the rest of the belts.

It is at this point I realise the crankshaft pulley has to come off????????

Anyone know an easier way to do it other than an angle grinder??? (Not always the best solution)lol

How does one lock it off to stop it turning? Am I going to need a pulley puller?

In gear with a burly assistant standing on the brakes, or breaker bar padded with rags and rested against the NS chassis rail and a quick sniff of the starter. In either case soak with ZX54 for 24 hours before trying.

Thanks Lord Lemmy & Cheffy, first attempt at spinning it over on key snapped a 1/2" Tee bar.

Next we tried the High gear & standing on the brakes, still nothing..............I will load up the pics to show how we did it in the end.

High gear, someone on the breaks has worked for me both times I'be done it. You might need to use a puller to get the crank pulley off after

Thanks mate, but unbelievably the pulley literally fell off, after a little wriggling.

We used a ratchet strap to lock the pulley in place wedged against a hammer. Worked a treat, much to my surprise!
