This weekend I'm selling 15 of my egr prevent modules with a bit of a competition that one of these 15 will be drawn at random and given a full refund!!

These modules will stop the egr opening on all 'new shape' series 4 models from 2006-2015

Classic models can just use a metal blank plate but the new shapes usually throw warning lights and confuse the ecu.

They help smooth out power delivery and reduce carbon build up in the engine which is such a problem Mitsi recommend a manifold clean at 60k miles which is very expensive. You may see slightly increased mpg as the engine will now only be burning air and diesel as it was designed to do rather than burning unclean exhaust gas.

The only reason the egr exists it to help Mitsi meet emissions regulations. However, these will have no effect on your MOT and reduce overall engine temperatures.

I've had great feedback from the members on here and these really are an excellent addition for your truck. They don't mess with anything else on your engine are it's impossible for them to cause any damage. These aren't cheap eBay fuel rail chips that mess with your injector pressure.

After fitting the truck just felt as though it ws breathing better if you know wot I mean

These are he brand new direct plug and play ones but the module is pretty much the same now.

little misleading on the claims will make no real difference to spool of turbo, wont make any difference to engine oil, wont lower soot output/emissions but will help keep intake manifold crudding up with carbon although you will still get some oil in the inlet due to the breather from engine plumbing into turbo intake pipe

Thanks for the info. My understanding was that soot will be reduced as you are no longer using exhaust gas, air and diesel. By keeping the egr closed the engine only uses fuel and air and is therefore a cleaner burn process reducing oil contaminates. In order to reduce NOX emissions soot production will increase and work its way to the the engine oil.

When the egr is prevented won't the gas that was being used for the egr now enter the turbo keeping the pressure higher on the blades and allowing for a faster spool time as some of the gas isn't being wasted on the egr system.

No issues of I'm wrong as I'm no mechanics (electrical engineering is where I'll stay) and would love to get more views on it. Happy to change the above if I'm wrong.

Egr allows exhaust gas back into chamber to lower air fuel ratio (lower combustion temp) to help burn nitrogen oxide so without the egr running the vans box levels are higher.

Feed for the egr comes from the side of the cylinder head and not off the exhaust manifold ( alot of engines have the feed directly off the manifold) so with the egr closed they would only be a marginal difference without a boost gauge setup to check actual results but possibly only a fe rpm difference from where the turbo stars to pick u

All I know there is a difference for the better I think

Don't get me wrong I have one and fitted it not noticed any difference

The most common feedback I get is smoother and better pickup from low revs. One thing that is for certain is that carbon build up is massively reduced.

Fitted this this morning and have noticed a big improvement, mine is an automatic and was always been sluggish pulling away from a standstill, roundabouts were a nightmare. I just got back from a short drive and all I can say is "WOW" it is now a lot more responsive when pulling away from a standstill, when I put my foot down something actually happens.
Very impressed.

Fitted this tonight, took truck for a spin round the block and going a lot better (iv also just given it a full service and cleaned MAF sensor so maybe not a fair test) but it didn't bring up any warning lights and as long as it keeps egr shut I'm happy for the money.

fitted mine a few weeks ago stuck 50 quid in , so see what miles i get , drives the same cant feel any difference still rather slow lol

Peter - if your manifold and pipes aren't too badly lined with carbon in the first place then you probably won't notice much difference. Now the EGR is shut off you know it won't be getting any worse :-)
