The stack pipe is in the fuel tank and corrodes where it comes out. Not mega bucks from milners if it is.
Try and bleed the system and look for bubbles by slackening the pipe after the fuel filter.

@Major Malfunction - should I crack the bleed bolt on the filter and pump the lift pump to expel air, then turn it over? (Looking for best way to check!)

Gents - thanks to all who gave advice on this. Bled the fuel lines as suggested, made no difference.
Rang RAC who turned up in under an hour (thats a first for rural Suffolk), with 2 mechanics on board!
They managed to get it started, but it ran with massive amounts of black oily smoke from the exhaust. There was no boost coming from the turbo when they squeezed the top hose coming to the intercooler.
Suffice to say, it wasnt a quick roadside repair - flatbedded to our local 4x4 specialists who are going to have a look tomorrow. RAC thinking is either timing belt has skipped a couple teeth on the fuel pump pulled leading to very rich mixture or turbo has failed (in some way, they werent very specific)
Ill update when I hear back for the garage - hoping its not turbo related having just seen the price of a replacement on the Milners website

Update from the Garage - they are 90% sure its the Crankshaft Speed Sensor (which, if faulty, will give intermittent Turbo Over boost diagnostic code apparently!!)
They will confirm Monday, but pretty confident that's the cause - apparently the wildly flucating speedo just before it died is a good symptom of this!!
Thanks all for your advice and suggestions - top award goes to @123hotchef who called CSS!

check the wiring and multi plugs that go from pump to sensor first before stripping it down these connectors can corrode or wires break making it appear the CSS is at fault when it is just the wiring
