Tuning options - ralliart or agri tune?

#1 by mrvandango , Sat Mar 11, 2017 11:47 pm

As per title really.. I have a ralliart installed, and I was planning to get it programmed in at mitsu in a few days. But then I stumbled across the agri tune chip and now I don't know which one to go with. Does anyone have experience of both? If so which is best? The ralliart should be sorted for the outlay of a couple of hours or so in labour, but the agri tune figures and feedback sound very promising, but will be over 3 x the cost (although I can sell the ralliart on). I just don't know what to do, as torque and bhp figures seem pretty close!

2009 Warrior.. egr delete, decat, Agritune, BFG A/T's, 30mm spacers, 22" LED light bar, boost gauge- so far..

Ah, that's interesting, as Phil at agri tune said his unit over rides the ralliart.

Do they work in a different way then?

Holy moly! That's impressive, and your economy figures are awesome! Did those numbers work out at the pump? I've known other tuning chips to throw the readings out massively. Did you just plumb them both in as if they were the only units installed, or did you have to do anything different to run them in conjunction?

You've made up my mind for me, cheers!

How much is an Agritune out of interest? And is it plug and play thing or is a proper remap job. Thanks

If you contact Phil Harrington through Facebook, he will let you know the price. I think it's plug and play as opposed to remapping.

They are plug n play.
Its a box with 5 or 6 different map settings from Eco / Power and can be changed in seconds.
Cost depends on model / year of your truck.
Phil has some good deals on at the moment.

Ok, so it took me all of 5 minutes to install the module last night! I went for a quick spin around the village - and all I can say is wow! What a transformation! I had it set on 4 out of the 5 possible choices and the difference was very noticeable. Pick up was better, way better in fact. Somehow the truck felt lighter.

Anyway, on my 25 mile commute to work I noticed the improvement even more. I live in a hilly area of Dorset, and whereas previously I'd be constantly changing down a gear there was none of this. It felt so relaxing and easy to drive it was like night and day compared to standard.

I brimmed the tank after work, so I will keep an eye on the fuel situation from here on in. I'm taking the caravan away for a few days next week, so that will be a big test for it. I shall feedback once I've got more figures, but so far, it's a massive thumbs up from me! Plus, I've worked out that based on a quite conservative estimated increase in mpg of 5%ish, the module will have paid for itself in around 5-6000 miles or so. I'm a happy bunny tonight!
