it shouldn't be a hard job for the gnome, all he needs to do is put on a raincoat and hat for the oil and walk underneath!

... ordered a new air con belt from our friends at Milner ... hopefully, it'll be here tomorrow. Poxy thing ... given that these trucks are nice and large ... there's bugger all room to do anything on the front of the motor. At least the belt is simple to remove ... slacken the idle pulley bolt half a turn and wind out (ccw) the tensioning bolt to drop the pulley down. Slip off the belt and wait for Milners to deliver the new one ... it's only a one beer process start to finish.
I've checked the amount of play in the idle and air con pulleys and they seem nice and sound. Hopefully, the new belt will kill the wailing sound when the air con is switched on ... if not that cramped space at front is gonna prove a bitch to get the pulley off of the compressor.

Not today, over the weekend.
Lights, Lights and flashy lights. Plus the knuckle scraping finger bashing running 5/13 core cables all over, and the switchbox/dist wiring. I may even get around to banging some metal behind my rear seat for the internal distro setup. Pics to follow.

... and it's fitted. Toothed belt sent as a replacement. That's ok ... works a treat. Got the heavy duty vacuum out and went around the engine bay pulling out all the leaves, dried cherry blossom petals, general crap and critters. It's all real pretty under the hood now.

Wiring's in, got to finish the mounts for the roofrack etc etc. Freshened the oil and gave myself a very nasty scare. Turns out the wheels have aged onto the hubs - very lucky in my travels not to get a flat!!! Going to see my workshop friends on saturday to play with an industrial porta-pack to pop them off!?%$

Oh Boy, there are things that you shouldn't see... 3 people under a ramp (not post lift!!) 1 holding cribbing with a piston, 2 with sledge hammers to remove a wheel... Anyhow, wheels off and slathered the hubs with copper. And just in time too, thinking a black diamond kit is required.

And this is me rolling in for the night (what's left of it!) after a fun filled day of dismantling and wiring.... more to follow when I sit down and put the front distro panel into service.

After putting the 2" suspension lift kit on, took it for a long run and to be honest wasn't sure I liked the steering feel, tracking/ Camber is fine. Thought I'd put on my 30mm spacers and lo and behold nice feelings back on the steering and it looks way better

Pre-birthday treat. Ordered a double din conversion with space for the trip meter and a new double din mechless headunit. Going to blank the extra hole for the trip unit and make it a switch area. New source unit's a Pioneer MVH-A200VBT with ND-BC8 camera.
