K74 engine swap

#1 by Kwakninja , Tue Aug 04, 2020 10:41 am

Hi all, I have a 2003 2.5 k74 4d56 warrior, it was a fbw, but came without an engine...I have a decent pre fbw engine etc with a rotten body and want to put that engine in. I've been searching for a guide on here but can't find one...can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks, Danny.

@Alan G you had the pre fbw engine in yours didn’t you and I’m sure someone on here has done this conversion and there’s a thread about it floating around in the ether of the forum.
@Kwakninja are you the guy who’s Ben asking on one of the l200 groups and chatting to a guy called Sam ?

Yes that's right, although they have been less than helpful...apart from Sam...I've tried looking for the thread but had no joy. It's re locating all the breather pipes and which plug to use on the pump I'm struggling with.

I am Sam , I use my middle name on Facebook so certain people can’t find me that I don’t want contact with 😁, It can be a bit slow for people to start replying on threads here but also have a dig round in the help sections and use the search bar and previous threads should come up , I’ve tagged in Alan who is a bit of a genius with the k74 but he usually reply’s in the evening due to work and other stuff

Hopefully Alan will reply soon as he is very knowledgeable about them and should be able to point you in the direction for the last bit, I’m going to assume you live way up country from Kent or to the west ?

@Alan G sorry to drag you into this but as resident guru you were the first person that came to mind , I invited @Kwakninja to join the Group as one of the other l200 Facebook groups wasn’t to helpful and I was struggling as I have the fbw engine and can’t remember who did the same swap on here 🙂
