Strangely Variable Fuel Consumption

Hello All

I have a 2017 L200. It's a basic '4 Life'. It's always been reliable and does what I need it to do, until about 2 months ago.

I do a 30 mile commute each day, and used to average 33 mpg approx. i've noticed that recently my mpg varies considerably day to day. One day I get 34 mpg. The next day with the same traffic and weather conditions, and the same driving style, I get 28 mpg. It always seems to be one or the other. The vehicle seems a little down on power when it's in the low mpg mode also.

Has anyone had a similar problem? Or have any idea why this may be?

The company is paying for my diesel at the mo so it's not a huge prob yet, but I'm concerned that it will get worse, or that it's an indicator that an engine component is on the way out.

I'd be grateful for your thoughts.

Cheers

Steve
