I did find the o ring on the water sensor at the bottom of the filter had split on mine as well

Just to update, the truck is still the same, its my first day off and have just tried bypassing the filter which made no difference.

Is there a 'how to' for checking sensors that an idiot can understand ?

Guys be gentle with me as I'm not great with things electrical, I have just tested the 'air temp' sensor (the one facing the front on the housing with two wires, my multi meter is set to x1R and the needle barely flickers and stays firmly over at 1000 ohms.
Shouldn't it go to the other end of the scale?

Also I have tested the other 'vacuum' sensor, the outer pins measure 25ohms.

Just had a brainwave and removed the temp sensor, heated it up and re tested, the resistance does reduce the hotter it gets so that would suggest its working yes?

Ive checked the two sensors at the throttle body, I was not sure where the other ones where and had to come back to work, am off again Tuesday for 7 days so will carry on with it then. To be honest Chef I struggle reading instructions, always have for some reason but always get there in the end.

I have read similar but others seem to have rough tickovers, mines not rough just low, hopefully one of us can find the fault and cure soon.

gonna through a curve ball here.....read somewhere that pumps have occasionallystarted to ' break down ' when warm , and pouring cold water over them cools them enough to work properly....gotta be worth a try.....

@ronniecabers I will try but fingers crossed it isn't that, I would think a fault like that would cost more then the truck is worth to repair.

@123hotchef I am studying the manual as we speak and will be copying the pages I need at work tomorrow. (I can follow instructions on paper better then I can on a pc screen).

The thing that really winds me up is that I am still certain it was all ok before I serviced it.

I cant find a how to, do I have to remove crank pulley to fit a crank sensor?

Dosnt matter, just found a picture that shows that I do need to remove crank pulley and bottom cover, what a stupid ruddy design.
