You know, Yods, I was talking to a guy at my welding class the other night... I gave him a card on week one and he was saying "yeah I really need to sign up; got a hard top to sell" and I was talking about our off-roading adventures.
"Oh" he said "I couldn't do that - I need my truck for work". As he was saying that, I was thinking of you

Some useful information for everyone today. I've had 4 days trotting around on familiar routes with the new exhaust and snorkel.. I can now say for a certainty that the truck has a touch more performance. It's still a big truck with a small engine, but being able to compare on roads I know, carrying weights I know, with throttle positions and speeds I know, I can see the differences. It has made it a more enjoyable truck to drive. More capable, less restricted if you will. Will be interesting with the IP tuned up.

Far bigger than that though, I can say for a certainty that EGT's are down with the 2.5" exhaust. And down some way too! Before, there were several hills where I had to reduce throttle to avoid going over 700. Although I never let that happen it always felt like it would have sailed past 700 if I let it. Now, I can't get it any higher than 650. And that's only if I'm working it HARD! So the reduction is anywhere from 50 degrees minimum to possibly as much as 100degrees. This is MAJOR good news in my book. Funny thing is I was hoping to see these results from the WI (Fettling still to be done there) But by far the cheapest and best mod you can make to bring engine temps down is in my opinion a bigger bore performance exhaust. And she'll feel freer under the right foot too. Happy days....

Today I mostly fitted some leather seats. Dad's ones from the Triton didn't sell so we came to a deal and I now have them
Much better for me with dog hair and dirty clothes from work. I vacuum the truck once a week, so it should make that job a fair bit easier now.

aye leather is good for the wipe down benefits but cold on the bum in the chilly winter mornings - fun stripping out the interior though eh?

Yeah true that Malky! I had leather seats in my old Jeep before the L200. Cold in the winter and hot as hell in the summer! But at least they are easy to clean! I'm debating whether to take the door cards from the Triton too as it has the matching leather strips on the doors instead of the late 90's influenced velour pattern that matched the now old seats.

Found my ideal winch bumper over on Pocuk.

Turns out this particular fabricator has had some failed welds. But that aside it's the style and design I like. Have emailed Brian for a price on an L200 version.

Agreed. Too much weight for me. And if it was purely on looks this is what I like. Plus I want the bull bar feature too.

Looks good. Not so keen on the "some failed welds", though! I'm sure Brian's will be much better put together
