It seems like I have missed two 12 mm studs, only found 4 of them, will have a go at it again tomorrow night. All the other stuff is done.

Old bumper gone. It was two clips under the headlights that was holding it, some brute force and it was gone.

But the holes in the new one did not line up so got some new problems.
Nothing I cant fix but there will be a delay

Looks very impressive, Danne. When you lay it out like that it's obvious where the effort and money goes.
Looking forward to seeing more pics, and also seeing pics of Greig's winch bar (thought you were broke, Greig? )

Don't want to hijack Dannes thread, but yes Scott im skint but fortunately the ARB bumper has been hiding in the garage for a few months waiting to be fitted but unfortunately it will have to wait a little longer as I wasn't able to get into my mates garage today due to him having a hangover and truck tinkering time is at a premium at the moment until the house is finished
After the house is finished I can get peace to drop the garage and put a bigger one up and get my mig and compressor fixed so I don't need to rely on people

I'm still looking forward to Danne's pics

((see, Greig, no hijack here sounds tough but also sounds like it will be worth the wait when you can get everything up and running in your own place. We're still waiting for the builders to come and knock down my poor garage ))

oh come on skotl - forum destruction weekend at skotl's house between greigy and basil the only problem you would have is making sure they dont get over excited and start on the house and a mini fleet of pick-ups to get the rubble off site.......

Danne - which holes didn't line up mate? I had one of the four main bolts was slightly off but a little rub with a drill bit and it was golden?

cheers

I think everything is more or less off and in need of adjustment. The main installations holes where about 5 mm off sideways and 15 mm off in hight.

At least with a 15mm difference in the height you can drill out replacement holes that will not overlap the existing holes. - I would want to fill the old holes though.

I'm also thining I want some braces that run from the chassis rails diagonally to the bumpre as I don't like the fact all the winch power is going to be focussed on those four studs....

cheers

Well ROBL200 given the fabrication issues Danne and I seem to have found on these, I think if I was buying again I would wait for MCK to fabricate one, his work looks like its beyond reproach.

cheers

Yes would also recommend that you wait until we get a forum bumper, because it is a lot of work to get this to fit. And I think the forum one will be a bit cheaper to.

That looks good, want something solid at the corners and with bars to protect lights etc if I manage to whack the front off something

Not difficult to make either.. good point is that it fits with the original bumper and must be loads lighter than the ARB stylie ones, I think Geoffs is 96 Kg ( not sure if thats with the winch..)

Not sure if thats with winch onhis lez mine total came to 84kg including winch, i imagine the a bar may make up another couple of kilo's or so and i went for a 13000lb winch i think that now may have been overkill.... recon the standard was prob aroun 35kg ish?
