Good work, Rob. Glad to hear the motor is at least turning - I suspect it will need some serious amps even without a load so hopefully it's just the knackered batteries.

Last piece of the puzzle arrived today. Some nice shiney OME shocks to match the rear. Now to get on and actually get some of this lot attached to the truck!

Damn straight, truck before food lol....

With it pissing down with rain today I really had no motivation to work on the truck but managed to drag myself up to the garage and made up a bracket to reattach my fog light. Managed to bodge something together with a random off cut of sheet steel, some bolts, a drill, a welder and no measurements what so ever

Just glad it's going to fail the mot on one less thing now!

Hehe, can't say I'm looking forward to pulling the front of it apart. A lot of original bolts that haven't been touched in nearly 160k miles...

Yes Rab 7x as good according to the price....I've had both now, and new procomps are as good as anything we need in the uk, but the ome ones last waaaay longer at "as new" performance

Well filters and oil done today and put a first coat of paint on the skid plates. Started on my handbrake cables too but bad light and a rumbling tummy stopped play. Got half the broken one off and as predicted the bolts put up a hell of a fight and reckon ill snap a few....

Well today started like this...

Was so wet outside the tarp tent had to be brought into action!

Managed to get the handbrake cables done but they put up a hell of a fight!

Think next time I have things apart I'll be replacing the drums/shoes/cylinders...

Ordered replacement lower wishbones today. I could spend another full weekend swearing at the bolts and breaking more drill bits and stuff but I'm just going to cut the old wishbones off. Too fed up with it now. Got one wishbone from milners but other was out of stock so looked on eBay and found a pair for £60 delivered so will have a spare.

Now to get more cutting discs for the grinder....

Right, slow progress today....

Got to the truck, opened it and put my keys and lunch on the seat then closed the door while getting stuff from my parents' car. Try to open the truck and it turns out it has locked itself with the keys inside.... Great!

After much farting about I managed to get in with some bits and bats I found in the garage... Time I really could have used to get on with the job in hand!

Got the wishbone cut off pretty easy then went to work on the bolt....

Damn!! What an absolute pain in the dick!

After much burning/grinding/drilling and levering it finally came free!

I'm going to try get all the bearings swapped tonight along with upper wishbone bushes and front lower wishbone bush.

This leaves me tomorrow to fit the new rear lower wishbone bush, and all the other bits then do new shocks on both sides refit the arb with new bushes, re adjust the torsion bar and bleed the brakes....

Then to book it in for the mot!

Locking yourself out of your truck is becoming a hobby, Rob Perhaps you should disconnect the central locking...
